Air Conditioner Troubleshooting
Things to Check before Calling Alamo Xtreme
If your air conditioner is not functioning properly, there can be a plethora of things wrong with it. Systems that are not serviced regularly can greatly suffer over time and may require various forms of upkeep. The air conditioning and heating experts at Alamo Xtreme AC & Heating can help you troubleshoot your system prior to us making a house call so you could save time and money.
We suggest checking the following items prior to contacting us:
- The thermostat– Make sure your thermostat is on cooling. If it does not appear to be working, ensure the batteries are new inside the thermostat and clean all surfaces gently to remove any possible dust particles.
- The filters– Filters should be changed every 30 days to ensure optimum performance. Dirty filters can cause your AC system to blow hot air or simply not cool your residence. If your filters are too high for your reach, we can help.
- The breakers– Depending on the system you have, there may be indoor and outdoor breakers. Check to see if none of them have been tripped. If you cannot locate the breakers, our technicians can be of assistance.
- The drain line– Air conditioner drain lines are located at the bottom of the evaporator coil. If there is water in your secondary pan, you may have a leak.
If you do not feel comfortable troubleshooting your air conditioning system on your own, do not worry. We can come to your home or place of business and check said items prior to performing any necessary repairs or replacements. Call us now at (210) 723-8998 for San Antonio HVAC assistance.
